Default 2003 or 2004 S2000

Which one would you get if you were gonna buy one? From the reviews I have seen it sounds like the 2004 will be more "Americanized" and tame, with a lower redline and softer suspension. Makes it a tough choice. With your experience what would you suggest I do?

I didn't wait, I bought a '03 recently. Here's my limited thinking.

I got the "original" with a lot of the early problems solved. I test drove one and decided the "lack of torque" didn't bother me at all. If it does become somewhat of a classic, I believe the 2.0 will be more valued. The '03 works just fine for my twisty two-lane driving, there is plenty of car left that I'll never use. The '03 is cheaper. I didn't have to wait, I'm driving it now.

Wait until you can drive an '04 compared to an '03 and then pick one.

You just have to decide which attributes you'd like. The true sports car, or the 'americanized' one as you say. A lot of people like feeling the torque down low in a sports car and that plus the refinments may be enough for you to want to get the 04.
