Laugh at them and tell them you'll pay MSRP and lower only. S2000's don't command that price anymore, like it used to. Lots of people have gotten very near invoice, in fact, during this time of the year.

You may want to post in the Hawaii Forum, too. Since there are limited dealers on the island, you may be limited, but they should be able to help you with a reasonable price...

I bought my last week at a steal, albeit a 02 leftover. But when I was looking around at the 03 models I was averaging around $1000 off MSRP. I also had some ammunition with me. I have a buddy that works for honda of america. The below information is what that person sent me. Please keep it to yourselves. Don't go to the dealers with this info. Just use it to bargain with them.

*********************
Dealer Cost: 27,743.16
Holdback: 1,109.73
If financed through honda credit the dealer also receives $400 credit.

*********************

I bought my 02 Sebring silver with the black interior. included options:
~ Car Cover
~ Security
~ Rear Tail Spoiler
~ Side Strakes
For all of $29,128.00 which I believe honda tells you is invoice.

You might have a tougher time to deal since you are buying it in Hawaii. Supply vs. Demand economics.

Dealers in SoCal are selling '03s for MSRP with no markup. A few folks here have gotten below MSRP for '02s and I believe one person was able to negotiate below MSRP for an '03.

No one is getting a 2003 for near invoice, so stop telling people this.

Why keep the invoice price a secret? And why not take it in to the delers with you and show it to them? It's all on the internet available to anybody in seconds.
