Default 2003 S2000 is just another model in the Honda lineup

When I heard that the 2003 sales brochures are out, I went down to my neighborhood Honda dealer and picked one up. Not that I expected to find anyhting new in the brochure, everything has been discussed on this board already (what a great board). But I was disappointed to find that the 2003 S2000 is now treated as just another model in the Honda lineup.

The 2000, 2001, and 2002 S2000 sales brochures are all very different from the sales brochures of the rest of the Honda models. The size of the brochure was different, it was printed on different paper, the texture, colors and the contents are so very different from the rest of the Honda brochures. But not so with the 2003 brochure, it is the same size and style as the other Honda models, with the same glossy printing and pictures. If anything, the new Accord sales brochure is just slightly bigger than the rest, making it stand out more on the rack (by the way, the 2003 Accord/4D also seemed bigger than the previous models, but that is a different discussion).

It is disappointing, the 2003 S2000 sales brochure is no longer "collectable" like the earlier ones. Our car is no longer treated as special in the Honda model lineup, it is now just another Honda model like the Civic or the CRV.

It's only "just another model" to the marketing monkeys who made the brochures. Trying telling that to the engineers who designed it, the workers who assemble it, or the owners who love to drive it.

I just picked one up yesterday myself...and to be honest I was more impressed with the Toyota Celica brochure.

Who cares? Brochures are good for selling cars, but once you have the car in your possession, the brochure doesn't matter much.

I never even looked at a sales brochure before buying mine. The ride did it for me.
