Default 2003 S2K Hardtop Question??

I was thinking of getting a white S, with the hardtop... I just love the way it looks with the hardtop.

But living in southern cali, I want to be able to ride with the top down too...

AFTER the initial installation of the hardtop, how hard is it to put on/take off the hardtop?

thanks.

agree, it can be done by one person but it sure isn't going to be easy. Long strong arms with paws (hands) the size of an bear will help. For the normal person it is a 2 person job. Unless you get a hoist/pulley system installed in your garage.

If you want to remove or install the hardtop by yourself, you may want to consider a hardtop hoist attached to the ceiling of your garage. It's a handy way of storing it, too. Even though the hardtop weighs about 44 lbs., it is quite bulky, and the chances of denting your car are too great. You can do a search on this subject, and you'll find people that have found this out the hard way.

I think the hardtop gives the car a classic appearance. Besides, it is quieter, it will reduce wear and tear on you ragtop, and it keeps me from worrying about some jealous SOB slitting my top. It also has a much larger rear window. Once you get used to putting it on the car, the process takes less than a minute. Taking it off is even faster. It's not for everyone, but I think it is a very worthwhile accessory.

i think its definately worth it... especially because i'm basically getting it for free.

my brother is a finance manager here at a so cal dealership and he is getting me the car + hardtop for $500 below the MSRP of the car itself.

your guys' input is much appreciated and i will look into the garage roof pulley thingy.

I too was thinking about a hardtop for my Spa Yellow S but can't decide between a yellow or black top. The latter matches the windshield header. Any opinions?

EZ to remove 2 person job - why risk dropping it?
