Default 2003 s2k question

I saw this pic on edmunds.com and was wondering what the 2 buttons behind the cupholder were.

I have a 2003 and I don't have those buttons or that shifter.

Thats not an 03. It has carpet in the center. 03's have the vinyl.
To answer your question its probably a custom mod. I remember in the AP1 consoles there was a little slot behind the cup holder (for change possible). Perhaps this owner used it for an alarm or something. Those buttons aren't standard.

Maybe it's for fog lights or something. Who knows?

I had this same quesiotn in the past. I have been told it is the switch for the hardtop defroster. But that is the beast answer I got.

FYI, the AP1 does have a change/junk/french fry holder at the back of the singlecup holder.

And this is a model year 99-01, as stated above, the carpet, the lack of door speakers and missing sivler rings around the door pull terminus give it a way.

Like others have said, it's the hardtop defrost that comes with the 00-01 kit.

And yes, Barry did install it upside-down. Heat "rises."

Hmm, interesting, I never thought about what the interior would look like without the defroster button.

Anyone got an AP2 center console pic between the hazard & roof switch (which my car is missing )
