2004 is 2003 (and 2002 and 2001) all over again
Is it just me, or have some of you guys forgotten that during "Honda Silly Season"--which runs from the official date one year's S2000 is released to the official date the next year's S2000 is released--rumors run rampant and you can't believe anything until you see it with your own eyes?
For example, when I ordered my Spa Yellow in November 2001, this board was full of rumors that 2001 was the last year of production. The rumors about "big changes" for the 2002s turned out to be minor tweaks ... and so on. If you want to have some fun, look at the posts from a couple of years ago, just to see how wrong they were.
I'm all for having fun, but jeez, guys, don't get your colons in a knot trying to outguess Honda. You can't do it. It ain't worth it. Give up!

BTW, I just heard (from a friend of a guy who has a roommate who dated a girl who drove through Torrance at 3:42 a.m. on the third Saturday in July last year) that the 2004 S2000 will be a four-seat convertible with suicide doors like the RX-8--and that the metal top will fold, accordion-style, into a stack on top of the trunk lid.

Do you think Honda will make a conversion kit or should I just buy a wrecked one and adapt it to my '01 myself?

If you do it yourself make sure you get the official "S2200.5 TypeR-S" emblems. Otherwise your "homebrew" will be too obvious.
