Default 2004 comptech exhaust...

Has anyone seen one of these. Comptech claims to have redone the look of the 04 exhaust. I'm stuck between the Comptech and the Mugen. Any sound comparisons and opinions would be appreciated. I know the Mugen sounds sweet, but the tips just don't seem to fill in the wide gap on the 04's rear and without a single picture of the comptech, I have no clue which one looks the best.

Unfortunately we don't have a picture of the new comtpech from the rear. I can tell you that the tips are larger (4" vs 3.5" for the previous model) and angled to flow with the new bumper better.

BTW, we'll give you 10% off list since you're a gold member on the site. http://marketplace.s2ki.com/s2ki/customer/...72&cat=9&page=1

Moving to S2000 Talk since it's not really a technical discussion.

Thanks for the info Lude. I definitely plan to get it from the marketplace if I go with Comptech.

Does anybody have any pictures at all of this? Doesn't necessarily have to be on the car. I really want to see what these new tips look like up close. The picture on the website might as well have been taken from an airplane. Actually, I think they just recycled the image from the previous model.

This isn't my car... someone was selling these awhile back and sent me pics cause I was interested. I hope it's ok to post these.

Anyway... let me know which ones you like after comparing the Mugen and Comptech. I'm still torn between the 2. The look is definately different, but the Mugen weighs only 29lbs. I have no idea about the sound, but I do have a Comptech on my Accord and I like the sound on that.

Aaaaaah! Even harder to decide now. If only the $500 difference could make up my mind, but I can't even fall back on that. I like the Mugen b/c tips are straight pipe and not rolled in like the Comptech. I always thought that looked a little cheap. But the comptech doesn't have that huge round can that hangs down.

I think neither fits as nice as the oval tips that are stock though. I just wish some good name in performace made a setup that was dual tip on each can. That would be wide enough to fill in the 04 gap and would look sweet as well. IMO anyway. Hmm, I might just be falling back on a custom job.

While we're posting pics, does anybody have any with a dual tip dual muffler setup? Maybe and euro style or dual tip remus?

I agree, the stock tips look the best on the '04 but that doesn't really help lol.

The Supersprints are similar to the '04 tips, but I saw a pic of it on an '04 and it just didn't look right, the tips were too far in the bumper and tucked away, they were definately made for the '00-'03s.

Another option are the dual oval Spugens, the tips on those are closest to the stock '04 if that's what you're looking for

I would just splurge and get an Amuse Dual!

I'd probably get the Comptech, it looks almost like stock to the untrained eye and it sounds awesome!

Well, my recent credit card statement just blew both of the exhaust out for a few weeks. I'll just get pep boys to put on one of those nice LED exhausts.

I'll probably end up with a comptech. I hate when things are too loud and the comptech is a nice blend of sound and it's not too shiny.

I like my Comptech for the '04... However, I really miss my ovals

I need to find out if Comptech makes silencers for it though... sometimes I just feel like being quieter and putting along.
