ap1 clear corners > ap2 > ap1 amber corners

why is everyone hating the amber? i was under the impression that amber is more "jdm" than clear lens.

i would just leave it alone unless you like doing those type of fabbing and stuff. but if i ever were to get an ap1 i would love to have the jdm silver housing headlights. where do you get those, anyone know?

Jason B, as ikeyballz said, I think it has to do with the cut off. The DOT changed some regulations and the AP2 lights are not quite the same as AP1. As you bounce along an uneven road it looks like you are flashing your brights. I don't necessarily want to blind traffic, but it just looks cool to me. Search for "HID rage" here ont he forums.

I would stick with the AP1. They should give slightly better beam output from the non Fresnel type lens.

Anyone have a guide for changing out head lights from ap1 to ap2.

Say you had the ap2 ignitors etc.

Should be a direct swap right?

I personally love the look of the stock ap1. That fad of clearing everything out is long gone. I remember I did that to my civic 7 years ago and thought it was super "cool". The amber at the sides adds some very nice contrast.

I think I agree with this. FOr some reason, I really have grown to like that orange against the Sebring color. I have someone that owes me a favor and could get the AP2's for nothing, but think I'm just going to stay with the AP1. It also seems the AP1 may be a little better for lighting, and I'm just addicted to their performance.

I will say the S has some of the best stock HIDS I've seen.

I was gonna say swap to the ap2 headlights. But if ya gonna do that.I would swap out the bumper 2.Yourz looks pretty clean, especially with the lip.I had a lil fender bender and upgraded to the ap2 headlight and bumper.Next i got the ap2v2 wheels.it's a more modern looking imo.i got the ignited 8000k hid's.Shit is looking proper. The before and after pixxx, are like night and day>my shit is a 07 lookalike. But thats what i was going for.To make a long story short, if ya got the $$$$$.Then dooo it.

I dont consider the newer lights the same as clearing like when you clear the ap1 lights. I prefer the ap2 lights over clearing the ap1 and of course I bought an 06 new in 06 and wouldnt change anything including the wheels on mine which would make it look newer. I think the update is akin to the bumper updates people did to long hood cars when the 74 and up bumpers changed the look of the 911 coupes. a few years after the body change people wanted thier own car to look newer. 30-35 years later the long hood look and classics came back in a big way. Personal preference.

i prefer the AP1 headlights, looks and, of course, the projectors. I think the main thing is personal choice on the looks. Now if you're a hardcore fan, you would choose the AP1 headlights over the AP2 b/c of the projectors. From what i understand, DOT put a stop on Honda making/using the projectors in the AP1 headlights, and 1st gen TSX headlights. They use a clear lens, and create a very sharp cut-off line. They switched to a fresnal lens (and maybe changed other parts of the projector) for the AP2. Also, the distance from the HID bulb and shield (inside the projector) help create that beautiful color you see reflecting on things.
im an AP1 headlight type of guy
