Default 2004 S2000 Oval Exhaust Tips.

Is this strictly an esthetics thing or is there any likelihood that we might be hearing a different sound from the engine?

Since we are on the subject, is the larger engine likely to emit any different sound?

Its probably just cosmetic, but would be nice to see Honda lighten up that lead weight they call an exhaust.

I don't think spugen is the first company to have a dual oval exhaust.

My 2003 Acura CL-S had a dual oval exhaust. Actually, they had it since that generation came out. I wasn't a fan of oval exhaust. I guess it grew on me, but a larger rounder opening would have been better...such as the CompTech Exhausts in comparison.

Earlier NSX's had 'em - it is purely cosmetic since the inside tip is round, so there is no trumpet modification (horn effect) possible

The quote from Honda is "New, larger and restyled dual tailpipes". I like the sound of larger and think they will look good. They won't be those tiny oval pipes like the Corvette has.

I think the car will have a different sound because of the new engine specs, not because of the new exhaust tips.
