Most of the dealership salespersons don't even know how a S starts. The morons are just that, all talk and no action. Quite a lot of them haven't even driven one, let alone a 350Z. I have and it is fun to drive, with some torque, and that exhaust note is quite sweet also. A friend that works at R&D in Torrance brought one home and called me to check it out. It was a loaner from Nissan and also a preproduction that was also a loaner to press. I drive the S and there is just that something about being able to rip off a couple of 8000 shifts and the sound that fills the cockpit and hits you all the way to your heart. Gotta drive one to know that feeling. Being able to merge into traffic in second gear to third and your already past the speed limit. Kinda brought back memories of when the Lambo Diablo specs came out and drooling over the 65 in second gear talk in C/D mag. That salesperson that told you the 350Z was better should go and Nissans rather than Hondas. Also, you should take him out for a spin your S and have him judge which one is better the moron.... Anyways, everyone enjoy and be safe.

What I have heard from friend til today.

Minor facelife front and back. Chrome in headlamp and some in tail light. Engine revision to 2.2L dropped redline. Last time he saw pics of car, had Analog inst, but states there has been a lot of talk over keeping the digital due to people wanting and likeing the digital. Some even requested a (HUD) heads up display like the Z06. Interior change to add another cup holder as well as rear speakers. No pics though, he has seen them, but cannot print or forward. He will get fired.

Here was my ten cents worth.

Enjoy

Sir: Knowing the Japanese, and knowing how much $$$ Honda invests in R & D, do you really think they would alter the rims/tires combo without also changing the geometry of the suspension... especially for a pure cosmetic reason like reducing wheel gap? I would bet not.

I think I actually prefer the current car. It sounds like this
car has had a bit of the edge taken off of it. Hopefully I'm
wrong, but in any case, it's not *that* much different. I'm
suprised they didn't add 30 hp by holding the readline at 9k;
perhaps they felt they couldn't increase the power rating
until the current nsx is replaced. Too bad--holding the redline
with the increased torque would have given the S a nice
boost to keep it up with the current performance envelope.

Maybe we'll all be lucky, and the "new" suspension will be "refined". That doesn't always mean worse. As for "taking some of the edge" off, one can still get good handling with some "suppleness" in the suspension. It doesn't necessarily have to be like a go cart. Granted, for pure racing, you would want it even stiffer, but for spirited street driving, maybe some "refinement" would help. Who knows?

I've been thinking about the 120 hp/l thing and how the new S won't be able to claim that. Maybe they just say its 240 hp to protect the NSX? Maybe it has more than 250?

Possible that the new engine will give more room for after market performance modifications, probably nothing like a 500HP civic, but you never know.
