Default 2005 or 2006?

See... I'm a Du Mass and when I originally posted this thread, I accidentally posted it under Introductions instead of S2000Talk, which would probably get more hits. Sorry for the mis-understanding. Here's the link...

Actually Introductions is a better place for this question right now. Sorry to tell you this, but this question comes up at least twice a week.

Buy whatever you like better.

I would get the 06, it has some new features that make it a better car imo

In my personaly opinion as i am a nut about saving money wherever i can...i would purchase an 05...you can get them for a much better deal and the upgrades on the '06 to me dont justify the extra money...you can get a slightly used of for 6-7k under sticker or a new one for also under sticker...

I agree with 'buy the one you like better'. Both years are basically great and although there are differences, most people would consider them to be trivial. Its your money - ask yourself whether you will be happier getting the latest or saving a couple of bucks? Also ask yourself whether the differences are trivial to you?

FWIW, I bought a 2005 because:

1.) I really wanted white/tan and one was available locally
2.) I was neutral on the 2006 changes and also did not see them as worth the money
3.) I had a need to spend the money before 2006 (long story...) and it was not clear that I could actually get a 2006 in time (it turned out that I probably could have)
4.) I expected to keep the car a while so that resale was less of an issue (after having it a few months I KNOW that I will be keeping it a long time!)

They are both great years for the car, get whichever you can find and are comfortable buying.

I think it's a matter of personal taste. Asking around here will not get you far. You should probably test drive both cars to find out which one is better.

Personal pref on the AP1, I like how it performes compared to the AP2, but if I were to go new I would go 06. The S only gets better year after year. Either way you can't go wrong.
