Default 2006 or 2008?

Hey guys looking for suggestions! I'm in the market for an s2000. I have settled on an exterior color and I only want Grand Prix White. I just cant choose whether to get a used 2006 or a new 2008. I like the all black interior of the 06 but I still havent seen the red of the 08 in person and I think if I do I'll like it.

The 06 appeals to me cause it is cheaper. But the idea of a brand new car with no miles just sounds so good I'd be willing to pay more for it.

Please give me any suggestions you got. All will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sev

Look for 07s still in dealer stock. Go to the Honda site, use the dealer locator and check the stocks of every dealer around you. Don't worry about the price listed on the websites. Once a dealer has been found go in let them get your phone number first, and then offer your price (27 worked for me, hell go lower). If they say no then leave. They'll call you back in a day or two and be at least close to your price.

I just purchased an new New Formula Red 07 in April 08 for 27k out the door, it only had 39 miles on it, so it wasn't even driven much by the dealership.

The GPW would have been my first choice, but considering the deal, NFR started looking really good.

Yeah, this is the way to go normally, but if the slight interior difference means that much, then $33k with a hardtop is definitely a good choice. He also gets a newer car that hasn't been sitting for a year. Only thing lost is a years deprecation, which isn't so bad really.

What you did was avoid a years's depreciation, and still get a no mileage car. Can't go wrong either way IMO. This is a great time to buy any S2K period, as the demand is so low, and the car is now very common.

Buy a new one. Makes it easier to get exactly what you want. I did and never regretted it. I looked really hard for a clean 04-05 and assumed that I could find on cheaper since 06 now had VSA and some other neat options. I noticed that slightly used cars were traded in by people that didnt take care of them and many had been treated badly. I had slightly over 20k cash to pay towards it and not have a payment because I sold my two old 911SCs. That was my plan and hope but, having a small payment and getting a near 0 mile car really gave me piece of mind in the long run.

Get used. Too many out there not to. You can save $10,000 off the price getting used, which is really worth it IMHO.

Don't waste your money with depreciation. If you buy a clean used S2000, you can always trade it in and not be upside down in your payments. You can't do that if you buy new unless you put a good deal down.
