Default 2006 Drive by wire

I've been searching this and unable to find it the last 45 minutes, but was hoping some of you may have experience driving an 06 with the new Drive by Wire and other models.

I've seen much debate prior to the 06 coming out, but any links to posts or maybe some of you who have driven the 06 (and have driven an older model) can help me out with some input?

Thinking of getting an 06 but not sure if you can even tell a difference.

Thanks!

It's better than the new Civic Si and TL-S 6 speed DBW. The lag on rev matching a downshift on either of these is horrid. With the S, No lag felt, drives like a 00-05 car with a cable. I wouldn't hesitate on a 06 because of the DBW.

off topic, but is it true that no sc is available for the 06 because of its DBW system? if this is true, how much would it cost to convert the 06 DBW to pre-06?

Although I haven't broken it in yet, I really have not noticed any difference vs. my old AP1. Certainly, there is more power at lower RPMs but I can't differentiate between throttle response. However, I can say the S2000's DBW system is more responsive than the one in my MDX.

Just a note on theory, I would expect better response with DBW if the computer is programmed properly. It should take less time for electrons to travel than inertial moving a throttle cable.

I have a little over 1200 miles on mine so far, replacing a '05. I cannot detect ANY lag. The whole system seems to be perfectly "tuned" and is smoother overall than my '05 (IMHO).

Ok, thanks.

Also, how about the seats...are the improvements any better in the ride/comfort/slipping?

My main concern was the DBW and the seats (which I think are ugly and have that stupid head padding...for what? Relaxing?).

I saw the seats in the '06 at the Detroit AutoShow and I was impressed. The material quality seemed much higher.
