Default 2006 keyless entry buttons on key?

Is the keyless entry still on a separate fob with the '06, or is it integrated into the key like the accord and crv?

If integrated, are the new keys backwards compatible with older models?

There are threads on this, but basically, the answer is no, the integrated keys for the other hondas are not reprogammable for the S.

With the already giant S key and the lojack keyfob, it's not really feasible to keep the keyless entry fob on my keychain. I guess i'm stuck unlocking my doors and trunk by turning the key in the lock like a common caveman. Honda needs to license or steal the switch blade keys that VA and Audi uses.

Agreed -- I really like my Audi's switchblade remote, and would love to have something similar for my new S2k...

if you want to convert your key to blade key, just view the following video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AB5NWRZZuko

It is available on eBay for about $14.99 a piece.

The issue is to remove the chip from your original key.

WTF does that video have to do with anything? That's just a spring loaded key fob. There is no associated remote.
