I've driven both...ridden in both...I am on my 2nd S2000. When this one is old and decrepit I will trade it for a new S2000 (assuming it's still around). It's the most addictive car I've driven.

MX-5 is a daily driver. S2000 is NOT for a daily driver. People use them as daily drivers but it sure makes my Si feel like a pickup

I think you might get a biased answer since everyone owns an S, but Miata is not a bad car nonetheless.

my S is a daily driver and I EFFING LOVE IT. "daily driveability" is for people who want comfort of a luxury sedan that feels like it's riding on pillows. If you're in the market for a sports car, get a sports car. If you are having to think about this that much, the S probably isn't for you.

If cost is a factor, why don't you look into getting a 2003/4? New cars aren't very good investments money wise.

Here's the factors for me when comparing the two.

Price difference, use the extra money to turn it into an track go kart.

400 lbs lighter

INSURANCE

bang for the buck

If anything, make sure you get the MX-5 Speed and not the MX-5.

Wow this forum is night and day.

S2000 board = miata haters

Car Talk board = miata recommenders

drive both, if it wasn't for the miata there would be no S2000, Z3/4, Boxster, Solstice.

They each have great aspects, the more you pay the more you get in the roadster world.

Hi! Chris,

If it is not for M3forums, I wouldn't be here dreaming about S2K. I never heard anything negative about S2K in M3forums.All M3 owners like to own S2K and all S2K owners like to own M3.

Infact I admire people who owns S2K. They are real sports car enthusiasts (one exception is the guy who compares Miatas with Civics) . Some of the M3 owners call themselves sports car enthusiasts and hide behind the technology to save their a*s.

All I wanted is a fun car with good handling which can be driven on a daily basis. Coming from 1998 Honda accord, I am sure the torque of S2K is more than enough to satisfy me.

I probably end-up with S2K this spring, but I would like to compare them before I take decision, including test drives.

Thanks
Kalyan
