i have recently run into financial problems. how much do you guys think i can get for my car with 1700 miles on it.

Wow, thats very good solid advice...

Just put up an ad for private party in recycler... in socal i don't think you'll have any problems finding a buyer. If you're in desperate times, try Carmax... you'll get robbed as far as their offer goes, but hey, you can sell it on the spot right there... the appraisal is free and quick too.

KBB lists my car at $27k for a MY06 @ 13k miles so you should be anywhere from $28-$29k?
