Default 2007 on long road trip

I’m thinking of driving it to my summer home 800 miles away. Will cruising at 4500 rpms for 11 hours be harmful to the engine in any way? Thanks.

no.

if you want to drop the revs slow down. Take some backroads. You don’t have to use the freeway.

Once drove my 06 ~950 miles from Cody, WY to Minneapolis, MN in a single day without issue. Engine is still going strong 8+ years later.

My son and I drove 1,000 miles each way from Colorado to Road America for the IMSA race weekend. No car issues whatsoever.

The trick is to break up the drive by stopping at every roadside attraction on the way. World's largest bull - check. World's largest strawberry - check. Kool-aid Museum - check. VW beetle spider - check.

No.

It will not hurt the car.

4500RPM is like 85 MPH. You're not gonna do 85 for 11hrs straight anyway. And 800/85=9.4

Check the oil when you get to your other house and then again when ur home. I find that constant high RPM highway driving can sometimes use up a little oil.

I've driven mine/my wife's S2000 across country.

Gas lasts about 3.5 hours or so.
I've had no issues doing 15-20 hour driving stints with these cars during said trips.

provided you're not driving low on oil, your engine will be just fine. However, if your bladder can go 11 hours without stopping, you sir are godlike

Running "forever" at 50% throttle is easy for any car. At a 79mph highway cruise I need fuel about every 300 miles according to the fuel gauge and rarely need to put more than 10 gallons in the tank. That's darn near 4 hours on my bladder as well.

If you're worried a fresh full synthetic oil change won't hurt but is really a placebo if you're doing regular maintenance.

I assume you've done a valve adjustment? The DBW cars are infamous for tight valves and running lean -- which will hurt the engine if too lean -- so a periodic adjustment is recommended.

When I moved from CT to S FL in 2008, I drove I-95 the whole way. Stopped in Savannah the first night, then continued. As Chuck said above, need to stop about every 300 miles for gas and to pee. No issues.

i'm dying for a long roadtrip myself. i did a 1,700+ mile trip in the S before kids and it was a blast with no issues at all. with flat freeway driving easily 300+ miles a tank.

to answer the question though, i'd just check the usual things: tire pressures, oil level, coolant, brakes, visual checks.
