2007 S2K Softtop Is Vinyl, Correct?
I haven't posted a stupid question in a while, and I don't want to jeopardize my status as one of the dumbasses around, so here goes:
Is the 07S2K softtop vinyl or fabric?
I'm about to coat mine with 303, and you can't use their vinyl product on fabric.
Autogeek, the retailer, says I've got vinyl, and he sure sounded like he knew what he was talkin' about.
Thanks.
Marrk

Actually ... I always thought all convertible tops are vinyl. Would fabric tops tend to leak under heavy rain? But I guess they tend to wear out slower than vinyl?

as one who details both i can tell you that we are really lucky to have vinyl tops- and they look good too.
fabric tops (german cars for example) are a real pia to take care of. they have to be preserved periodically and the products for this are like scotchguard- raggtopp (for cloth) makes a great one- you have to mask the entire car to use the product (i use old bed sheets) cause you dont want it on the paint and it is an aerosol type product.
vinyl is much easier to care for- wash it and easily preserve it by wiping on the product (303, vinylex, or raggtopp for vinyl).
