I have a 5 day old 2007 rio, and there is a problem with the seats. Compared to the 2005 S2000, the passenger seat on the 2007, almost doesn't recline. Sits VERY upright.

I was at a S2000 meeting in San Diego this thursday, and I thought it was a problem with my car only, but there was a 2007 Laguna, and it had the same problem.

The driver side does recline (not as much as the 2005 model), but the passenger side ALMOST doesn't recline at all, feels its stuck.

Is this a problem with the 06/07 models? Can anyone help out?

I did a 2000 mile roadtrip this weekend, and my passenger wasn't very happy

Hmm, my 06' passenger seat reclines up and down like normal. Try moving the seat all the way up and see if the back can recline.... if not, dealer warranty!

 

We tried this both on my 07 Rio and another 07 Laguna. We moved the seat ALL the way up front. Then tried (passenger side), to recline it back. It barely reclines, leaving a huge space in the back . I don't need the storage, i need the recline.

Never tried with my 06, I'll try it if I remember though.

The same with my 07. The gf is not happy about this either. But I really do just turn a deaf ear as I tell myself silently, "I bought the car for myself."

 

So even though it may be the case that they do not recline, does it matter? You are not going to recline them ever beyond that little bit, unless you're super short or some circus clown

You're supposed to sit up straight in this car. No slacking.
