Default 2008 Headlight Help

Thanks in advance for anyone who is able to help me with this situation.

My dad just purchased an 08 BB s2000, the car has 28 miles on it but the headlights were stolen out of it at the dealership. I ordered him 06 headlights that I found a pretty good deal on off of a car with less than 10,000 miles. After looking at majestic honda it seems all the part numbers match up for the 06 and 08 as far as bulbs/ballasts/ignitors which I got all of those parts with the 06 headlights but the housing part # seems to be different.

Did honda change something about the headlights in 2008 that I did not know about? Someone told my dad that they are different but I had never heard anything about them being different. If they are different I will just use them on my 02 and complete my ap2 conversion since I already have the lip and bumper but I did not really plan on doing the headlights....

Any help someone can give me is greatly appreciated. I am hoping possibly they just have some cosmetic difference that I am overlooking and we can still use them temporarely on his car but if not I guess I am going to have to find 08 housings and transfer all the HID components to the new housings.

Thanks,
Corey

That is what I was thinking too. I dont see any difference or reason they would be any different. And cannot find any information other than the part number being different on Majestic but that could just be because the lense is dated like they are on my other cars.

Yeah, my dad has always been into cars and this is my second s2000 the first one I sold to get a tow pig for my turbo integra, after about a week I regretted it very badly. The first time I let my dad drive the second one he was hooked. He is already talking about going to WTD this year. It will be different being in cars and not on bikes rolling together.

Thanks for your input though, I am worried about these damn headlights, as you know ap2 headlights are not cheap no matter what year. Car and headlights should be here towards the end of this week so if I dont hear anything I will test fit and let everyone know the outcome.

Someone mentioned about how 06+ headlights had a change due to DOT regulations, causing the reflective pattern look different ... but then i still dunno if that's true

I am confused- did he get a great deal because the car has no headlights? Why did the dealer not replace them?

yeah, he got it for a great deal. The car still has all the shipping tape on it. Dealer said that they did not even want to mess w it and sent it to the auction. I am kinda jealous I have just a little less in my 02 than he has in his 08.

If the headlights are just a dot change I am not worried about it. Someone was telling him they had major differences but I really don't think they knew what they were talking about?

They should bolt up just fine. All years swap with bulbs and ballast no problem. I am sure it is cosmedic if anything.

They will bolt up just fine... I believe the difference is the type of projector used between the earlier AP2 headlights and the late model ones. You might be able to find more details on hidplanet.com

The 06 headlights should work perfectly. I don't think they made any changes since 2004.
