I think this thread posted at the top of the S2000 Talk section explains it all

I skipped lunch to stop by a local news stand. got excited when I finally located the road & track, oct issue. Looked at the table of contents, nothing on S2000. went through every single page (twice). nothing!

dang... got back to the office, pissed and hungry

Like you said, these are merely rumors.

People get really excited about these types of news, and the same topic gets posted over and over again, eventually overwhelming the entire board with uninformative information. Then the OP gets flamed, and someone will come out and say something like "2003 was the last year of S2000, anything after that is S2200" etc.

Try to look through some old posts, and you will see that people have been talking about these things since year 2000 when the car just came out. Because these posts do not serve any real purpose other than cluttering the board, there is a dedicated sticky thread for people to post about this topic.

Posts that contain facts or excerpts from relatively reliable sources are worth discussing, and are thus do not get locked -- i.e. threads that contain scanned images of new brochures, etc. In this case, it's likely that information about 2008 models in year 2006 when the 2007 models just came out is anything but reliable.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. 2002 was the last year for S2000s. The salesman that sold me the car told me so.
