I keep seeing teasers about a 'new' S2000'?? Anyone know if these rumors are true? Peace and enjoy the curves!

There's a possibility Honda might build a 2-seater convertible sportscar sometime in the next few years, yes. It won't be an S2000 though. If it happens, the engine will be turbocharged, the gearbox will be automatic, and it'll be expensive.

I'm totally fine with Honda releasing a new convertible sports car, as long as it's not called an S2000.

Regardless of whatever they call a hypothetical new car, it won't ever really be an s2000

The ND2 Miata will be more "S2000" than anything newly released from Honda - lightweight and nimble, manual trans, bare-bones and super simple car, no frills/luxuries, no hybrid system, etc.

A few months ago, in my quest for a 21st century roadster, I test drove a couple of Boxsters, a 2007 Z4M, a 911 Cab, a Lotus Elise, an AP1 and a couple of AP2's, plus a brand new Miata. I found and purchased, a pristine 2003 S2000. The S was, to me, the obvious choice for many reasons. I'm sure you guys get it. I've had a lot of fun cars in my time- the S is a keeper. Along with my M Coupe, it's a forever car.
If Honda ever produces a "new' S2000, I sure would be interested.

extra fake news.
Today, the 2019 mazda Miata is the closest you'll come...but I find the passenger seat tighter than the S. Used, they'll be a good bargain.
