Default 205 tires on S2000 rear wheels?

I've got some snow tires from my Impreza that I'd like to keep for my S2000. They're 205/55/16 and I know that's perfect for the front wheels, but what about the rears? What's the smallest width tire you could safely put back there?

For snow tires, that's perfect. Narrow is good.

I'm assuming you don't expect, and won't try for, summer-tire handling on your snow tires.

First of all, nice choice in cars.

Secondly, I wouldn't do it. Even for an S2000 with the 17"s, that tire size doesn't work as a -1.

....Or maybe I'm wrong.

I just don't remember 205/55-16 being a correct size for the people that did winters on the car.

You want 225's in the rear.

Of course 225's would be ideal, I'm just trying to be frugal here.

If not, I can always have two sets of fronts.

When I first got my S, it had 205s on the back... they didn't cause any problems, no damage.. Handling wasn't as good, but they still worked.. I quickly replaced them with 245s.. but you shouldn't have any problems using them..

He's talking SNOW tires here - wide tires tend to "hydroplane" on snow.
