Twenty-seven month old "news" from Australia that has never been repeated. Probably because the 152 isn't true.

If it's too good to be true, it isn't......or it is a break through that will change the world when people copy it....and it hasn't.

Personally, I'm putting my money on the cold fusion fuel additive that adds quantum power to the horsepower.

Perhaps some mice lived in the exhaust or something?

This is a very common trick the aftermarket folks are always trying to pull off.

You low ball the beginning dyno numbers, then claim genius when you get the HP numbers up to what they already were in stock form.

I would be willing to bet that NO S2000 would dyno below 190rwhp in stock form unless it had some serious maintenance issues.

GC,
depends on the dyno and conditions (which I am sure that you know). I dynoed at 187rwhp but I had a restrictive intake. With VAFC got to 201rwhp.

it's a VERY simple mod to increase the power 27%.. just apply the throttle the rest of the way to the floor...

I haven't read the previous threads on this articles however i do have some info which i believe some of you may find useful.

There is an explanation for the low rwhp figure. In australia the majority of dynos used are Dynodynamics as opposed to DynoJet. Dynodynamics dynos are a lossy dyno which give a rwhp/kw figure around 20-30% less than the flywheel hp, usually for a rwd car this figure is about 25%. However in this case the loss does seem unusually high at 35%............... that i cannot explain.

The Motec ecu is a worldclass product, used by many motorsport teams around the world, it has many features, with all parameters being fully adjustable, and a high degree of tuneability, especially when compared to other consumer level cpu's. Many people have realised substantial gains on their standard or modified cars by tuning them more finely (in the case of the S2000 leaning out the mixtures), however the level of this gain varies.

The mod on the surface may appear simple but an installed and correctly tuned motec can cost up to the same as a supercharger kit.

Im not commenting on the credibility of the gain as i have not heard of the workshop, however i do know about the E-zine autospeed, and they are a credibile bunch who say it like it is, and have been around for a little while now and are well informed about automotive modification.

Sorry for the essay but i thought this info might be helpful

oh in addition to that the australian cars are tuned to run on 95ron petrol (not equivalent to 95ron in the US our standards are different) and im pretty sure the s2000 tested was tuned on 98ron petty so there will be some gain apparent there as well
