Default 3 years and counting!

Actually I am posting this about a week late, but my baby has been with the family for three years as of Haloween! Runs great, just over 32k miles, and just came back from the dealership with a new (tsb) clucth! =) She's running like new...and so quiet too!

So how many other folks have had their car over 3 years? Any thoughts on the car after three years?

I have had mine for 3 years also. It was in the first shipment to Long Island. I have had the new clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing package put in also as well as the new series oil banjo fitting bolts. I also had the 2nd gear set replaced. I also put in the 2002 radio (with clock). I have had no troubles at all with the car I just did all of those things to keep it updated to the latest specs.

Congratulations!! I've had mine since October '99. She's got 70k miles on her and the only problems I've had have been other people running into her. She's currently in the body shop for the third time . Hopefully she'll come back good as new as she did the last two times. I still love the S2000 as much as I did the day I brought her home.

Ed: Happy delated birthday for your "baby." Today is three years for mine and never has it run better. Biggest (small cost) improvement made for day to day performance was insulation of intake, intake box, top of radiator and supply water hose along with "cool ice" in radiator. Engine stays smooth in warm weather and "heat penalty" is eliminated. Finish First keeps the paint pristine, and Griot's leather interior car scent retains the first day's ambiance.

Mine is the 18th! I am not sure what to get her. Maybe a new owner?! Yes thats right. I am looking to get an '03!!!!

Oh yea........63K+ on the odo.
Problems? Well........TSB's all done. Inner drivers CV joints one at 45K and another when the differential got replaced at 60K. Long time ago had a misfire on the # 1&2 cyliners.(coils replaced and no probs since) That is about it!

Very happy customer. Just want a new one.

Hi Ed. Had my S for three years 1 month and 3 weeks, and it has 24K on it. (You saw it at Willows in June) I have had the 2 gear grind fix, under warranty, but they did not replace the clutch. Did you have the clutch replaced under the TSB? Mine seems ok except for a lot of vibration under my foot when I first depress the pedal. Sound familiar? Or normal? Thanks.

I have actually had the TSB054 done TWICE now. First time was when the car only had some 13k miles on it. The decelleration noise (and clutch pedal vibrations when slightly depressed) just got way too annoying. They put in the 2nd generation clutch (#xxx...-025). I also did the TSB 055 fro the 2nd gear grind, replaced my dash board (under warranty b/c of a material flaw under the upholstery), and the Seat belt recall work all at the same time. Other warranty work include replacement of my headlight assemblies b/c the black coating inside started to bubble, and most recently, the spark plug recall and now the second tiome to do the TSB-054 b/c the decelleration noise and vibration are back.. I was just outside of warranty, but the dealer and Honda took care of my baby anyways under warranty b/c my mileage was still below 36k.

It may seem like alot, but none of these things have really affected me driving my car and enjoying it. I just figured it was covered so I had it done. Like Beig, I also updated my Radio to an 02 w/ a clock. Unlike him, I added a few small modifications which I really enjoy, including an X-brace(Mingster), leather console cover (Ricks), replacement speakers (Blaupunkt), and an aeroscreen (Mingster).

Still drives awesome and would not trade the experience of owning and driving this car for anything else out there. Having a great board like S2KI to come to to share these experiences is definitely a great plus (Thanks Cthree!)

Mine was back in September for owning this car for three years.
Can't believe it is been that long already.
83000miles if you can believe it.

Highly modified and still runs like a champ. My interest in tinkering with this car has been slowed down to a halt lately but I still love it every minute that I get behind the wheel.
My car was driven everyday about 99% since the purchase and quite amazed with its durability that all the abuse that I caused.
