So can you guys help me out and give me some input. Thx.... in advance...

They will probably change your oil, and the rest will be a detailed visual inspection for any little thing that they can charge you extra for to correct. Ask them for specific details on the service and what is included.

Refer to your manual, it will tell you what "needs" to be done for your mileage! If you want to take it to you dealer for that fine! All the other crap that they try to get you on refer to the guys here as far as maintaining your S, They know more than your dealer does!!!

Change oil, filter, air filter, cabin filter, rear diff oil, inspect various things (tires, pressure, fluid levels, brakes, etc), lubricate things.....

I paid about $250+/-

If you work on your own car, the 30K service is cheap. If you don't, expect to pay around $300 I think.

i heard honda voids warranty if the car is not serviced correctly(or at the right time/mileage) if i do my own 30kmile service(or whatever xxKmiles) myself, how would i tell honda that i did? what do i do to prove it, i have a service manual that they stamp whenever i bring my car in... but most of the things they do, i can do myself(change oil, oil filter, air filter, liquids)

Keep receipts from parts and write in the book when you do stuff. Honda states on page 122 of the manual that any skilled person can do the work, and I trust myself more than some hourly mechanic who works on Civic 99% of the time.

If you dont want to write it down on paper, write it down digitally. Join AHM Ownerlink online (https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com) and using the service records you can record anything you want about service done to the car, as well as where the service was performed.

Thx guys i'll look at my manual see what i need. One thing i did forget to say is that i asked if i had just change my oil would it be necessary to pay extra the guy on the phone told me they would discount from the total since i didn't need it any more. I just didn't know how accurate he was based on the four wheel drive statement he gave me.

If you go in and ask for the 30k service, you'll get a flate rate like $300. If you go in and say specifically what you want that you can't/won't do yourself, it can come out less expensive - price it out each way and see what works.

If you can change your engine oil, you can prob change your transmission and differential fluid as well. Each service at my dealership is $80, so doing it myself saves me almost $150! It only charges $25 for an oil change however, which if anything, is more involved than the transmission or diff...

The cabin air filter can be changed in about 10 minutes and it costs under $10, but the dealer will charge you at least 30 minutes at $65/hr labor. The intake filter is $30 and takes one minute to replace, but a dealer may charge you 30 min for that too...

Checking the various things on the car is easy if you have eyeballs. I had the dealer top off my coolant under warranty when I saw it was low during my 30k inspection.

I did have the dealer flush my clutch and brake systems - that is not in the 30k service but should be done by time, and I was at the 3 yr limit.

Basically, get some info on pricing up front and you won't necessarily get nailed with a big bill in the end.
