Default 300 Miles

My wife and I took a trip down to Abilene and back on Saturday. It took about 1/2 tank down (176 miles). I topped off there before returning and finally filled up on Wednesday. The Odo read 301.6. When I filled up, she took 10.41 gallons for a mpg average of nearly 29 mpg. This tank did include some vtec, but was mostly high speed cruising. This baby likes to run for hours on end at 3500-4000 rpm. Who says this isn't an economy car?

My car has only 3000 miles on it, but I get about 13 mpg in the city.

The best I've gotten on the highway was 39.9 mpg (Can. gallon). In town I average about 25 mpg but I don't drive the crap out of it from every stop light.

What's the difference between a Canadian gallon and a US gallon??? I thought you guys did things in Liters up there.

I've reached the 30mpg mark twice, with lots of highway cruising (3000-4000rpm.) If you treat it nice good gas mileage is possible. Its a Honda!

We do all commerce using liters but some of us old diehards still like to see what the mpg is so we can compare to the "old" days when our muscle cars used to get 6 mpg. A Can. gallon is slightly larger than a US gallon. 1 Can. gallon = 1.2009 US gallon.

Thanks xviper for the explanation.

By the way, I've never gotten close to the 30 mpg. I've only gotten as high as 27 mpg.

that's my best so far as well - 27mpg, but I don't avoid vtec. And 27 is a lot better than my 4runner(best ever 21.5mpg)...

I get 27-30 mpg when cruising on the highway at normal speeds (70-75mph). I live about 2 miles from work, so I only get 18-19 mpg most weeks.
