Default 350 auto vs S2k challenge

Well, I will probably be buying a 2004 S2000 when it does come out (if I like the changes when i see and test it in person) and I have a friend with an auto 350Z. He says he could beat the s2k, so I was wondering what you guys think.

From a 25 mph roll?

From a stop? (Don't think ill race form a stop, don't want to beat the car up)

On the freeway?

Don't forget, it is an auto.

I know there are probably a lot of threads like this, but I don't remember seeing any of them with the auto Z.

If you're a good knowledgable drive, you'll beat him any way.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I would question your friends ability to drive since he bought an automatic, go smoke him.

Reminds me of the guy in the Pontiac with the fake sponsor stickers, motorized wing, 'CVCEATR' license plate, wearing driving gloves and had an automatic.

You should work him over pretty good, especially off a roll. I pulled away from an auto 350z pretty solidly when I was stock.

Haha, well, heres the story.

He has a delsol Vtec model with OZ superleggeras and tein coilovers, and some no name intake. His car is a manual. (nice car, good condition.)

As for the Z. It is his grandmas, and he drives it just about eveyday. So he really didnt buy an automatic, guess I should have explained this before.

But what you said does make sense.

That it not really any indicator of how good of a driver someone is. Perhaps he uses the car to commute in traffic, so the auto is more practical.

i think it's good enough everyone comparing Z350 to S2000, and this is enough for me... let's see... it's 6 vs 4 ,24v vs 12v, 3.5 liter vs 2.0liter,287/274 vs 240/150 , the only thing that is S2000 is lighter like 3200lb vs 2800lb ?, if same driver with good knowledge to both cars, i believe Z should be faster on straight... but on track everything will be different

both are nice cars but i like a whale better than turtle
