I've owned a 2005 STi, a 2005 Evo VIII, and a 2005 350z. I can tell you that the 350z was the least fun car I've driven, it's obviously got more torque than an S2k but I'm telling you, you will have more fun driving the s2k around.
+1 Big Time

I've had some great cars, but I would never think of not having an S2k. You'll have real remorse later after buying the Z. You'll still want the S. Trust me.

Words of the wise, my friend. Words of the wise. I have a 2007 STi and a 2001 S2000. Wouldn't give up my S2000 for anything. Jewel of a car. Its one of those few cars that's truly greater than the sum of its parts. The same can't be said of the 350Z. Not by a very, very long shot.

i love the 350z (well g35) exhaust sound but it doesn't beat the sound of the s2k engine at redline.

i dont own either cars so i'm a little less biased, i drove a g35 and s2k and i must say it was the quickest decision i made in my life. s2k by farrrrrrr

take the money you were gonna spend on mods, add it the price you were willing to spend on a car, and buy something else.

this is the best statement yet. I could go to chevy and get a c6 vet. They are offering 0% for 72 months, and they have employee pricing (brings the price to 40k) That the is only car I plan to upgrade to after that S.

How will you use it? Just street or will you autocross or track it?

If it's just street then you might as well get the hardtop and room of the Z, but if you plan to track or autocross it then S2000 hands down.

At least the 06 & 07 Zs have something in the power steering where it doesn't like it if you try to turn the steering wheel fast such as in an autocross. It will fight you in an slalom whereas the S you can just flick your way thru.
