I drive a Nissan Altima 2001. I dont know if its only with this model or if its with others.. but this car blows... I have to put in power steering fluid so often I dont know why it burns through that stuff so fast. Also breaking power on it is ridiculous.. I had to car about 2-3 full car spaces in front of me it was raining and I was following the speed limit 45MPH I was probably going 40MPH because of the rain but then P.T Loser in front of me hits the break hard and I immidiately hit the breaks as well. I hydroplaned an inch away from hitting that PT (A whole 2-3 car spaces of just mad sliding), the altima should have stopped WAY sooner than that I had new tires on them and everything I mean truthfully I don't know the breaking power of a 350z but from the Nissan's I drove I would not rely on them.. my best friend who drove an SC300 hit me seconds later and I hit the PT due to a domino effect.

Moral of the story..
1. Nissans are not only not reliable mechanically from what people said above me.. but also you can't rely on them to save your life.
2. Don't ever drive behind a PT Cruiser. (They either drive really slow/crappy or htye have constant random hard stops)
Breaking seems to have had nothing to do with that:P if you hydro plane it dosent matter how much braking power you have your car is sliding on a thin sheet of water. I would be more worried about the tires.

also went through the same debate
-s2000 = honda = reliable
-alot less s2000's on the road then 350z. I feel like 350z is turning into the next mustang with how many people are driving them and the crazy variation in age.. They offer a 350z in automatic, so thumbs down to a true enthusiast car.
-you can get some decent gains from header exhaust intake TP and EMU, running you about $2,200, probably +25 whp w/ the tune

-350z is torquier, but a fat ass, much like german cars...it seems like you're goign really fast but are you? I prefer a light weight car that feels easy to drive and easy to handle

o and the baseline 350 doesn't come with an lsd, which again, proves my point about the enthusiast...so you can get a sports car in automatic and without an lsd... boo

this might sound narrow minded, but if you have to debate with yourself over getting a 350z or a S2000 then you should probably get the 350Z.

the s2000 has a very small niche in the car market and is not for everyone.

don't get me wrong..i really like the 350Z especially the dual throttle body ones, but the car is meant to appeal to a larger market which means they developed the car with "softer" feel.

the s2000 was developed with a very narrow purpose...which means the car has certain features...or lack of features.

have a nice day.

hmm thats really strange with the braking.... my 06 sentra spec v had great brakes. it stopped on a dime... mayB its because it was a SER SpEC V... hmmm

only thing i had a gripe with in the sentra was the HORRIBLe steering ratio! Parking the sentra was like parking a TRUCK--> No joke. You would think a car tha isnt that big would be able to make a pretty good sharp turn but hell no. It made the widest turns possible. My father's old 88 caddy deville has a better steering ratio and that thing is a gigantic tank.

I've went through quite a few cars, EVO 9 MR, 335i, and can honestly say that my current ride (S2000 CR) is the most enjoyable by far -- even more so once KraftWerks or Greddy releases an FI kit for the '08 models As you can tell, my vote goes to the S2K!

YES! LOL Nissans have the worst turning ratios.. I Have to freakin wide turn into ANY parking lot and parallel parking is nearly impossible unless I cover 2 lanes of a street to back into it lol -_-.

Wow I cant believe someone from this site hasn't gone crazy over this. As most people say drive both cars for sure. If you haven't found out that the S is so much more of a car by then go look a little further. Look up the video on youtube from testdrive ht etv show. They explore both cars in many situations and see what they found. I have driven more sport cars then i care to type but very few compare to the S. Hands down the S is one of the best stock driving cars out there including the zo6 vet. These "super cars" have a huge price tag with huge hp numbers but little suspension to back them up and simple blow the tires off. There is so much more to be said but just drive the car a be amazed. Good Luck!
