for dark cars as it says. i figured this would be the **** @ $17 a bottle. and it's 3m, right? well i applied it....tried to wipe/buff it off...all it left was a haze, the swirlys look like they're gone...but i can't get the haze to go? i buffed the crap out of it, no luck. used paint cleaner, polish, wax, everything. not working...

what's up with that?

i had a bottle of gold class swirl remover as well...and i figured, what the hell, i've tried everything else. so i slap that on...and it comes off!

this stuff works!! not a swirl to be seen. a few of the deeper 'scratches' (no paint removed, but the clear coat is a bit scuffed) got a little lighter, and i'll bet they'd come off with a little more work.

anyway, i just wanted to know the deal with the hard to remove haze...maybe i did it wrong...i dunno.

I always loved Mothers stuff! I think if you tried with a buffer Finesseit II then the Swirl remover it would get the deeper scratches out too.

Toughest part is the buffer! If you have one on hand or a friend who is handy with one. A pre-cleaner with a foam pad can do wonders!

I even heard from my buddy down the street that he took that yellow road paint off a car with a pre-cleaner and a buffer.

I'd keep the buffer away from your S2K. Try to get the swirl remover off with a clean clay bar or surface cleaner/deoxidizer (Maguires, Mothers). I use the 3M clear coat safe rubbing compound after washing the car. Then Mothers scratch remover, swirl remover, carnuba wax and spray on showtime shiner-upper. No haze, no swirls, just a perfect finish on my black/black S2000 or black/black 1993 Acura Legend LS 6 spd coupe.

I was able to remove haze caused by a bad clay job from my wife's car by doing the following:

1) Washing the car with Dawn dish soap (a Zaino trick).

2) Applying a clear coat cleaner.

3) Then applying swirl remover and polish.

4) Then waxing.

This got rid of all the haze; however, it was labor intensive, taking almost 4 hours.

I used Scratch-out(the yellow bottle) to removes the swirl marks. It works very well and VERY EASY to take off unlike Meguier products. It as easy as waxing your car...

okay, my shipment of zaino stuff is coming on friday, planning on spending the weekend with the stook. zaino says wash, clay bar, polish polish polish, wax. at what point would i use the stronger swirl removers (like the meguiars, mothers, or 3m)?

how does the rubbing compound help the paint? i thought it's only for stuff that's really hard to get out.

finally, can zaino really handle deep swirls and a few scratches?

do you apply the rubbing compound, scratch remover, and swirl remover everywhere, or only in the effected areas?
