4.57 gears
I know I've posted in other posts that the noise is difficult to tolerate with the top up, and that I've lived with it because of the added strength of these gears, but I recently had the area behind the seats and over the fuel tank sound proofed and it did make a difference. The area behind the seats was done while my top was being replaced; perfect opportunity for sound proofing under those hard to remove panels.
Is the howling completely gone? Not really, but it's now only there at it's highest levels (but now reduced and more tolerable); the lower level noises have been practically eliminated. What's really nice is the 60 mph to 75 mph cruising noise has been greatly reduced.
I hope to reduce it more by sound proofing the floors and the trunk. I had already sound proofed under the car, in the tranny tunnel area, which also helped a bit.
The added weight was neglibile and now I'm happy with the setup.

Why not put the 4:57's in an 04 pumpkin?
If anyone has either for sale, pls let me know.
