hardtopguy is nearly complete with the testing of my car with new 4.57 gears. It looks like we'll be sticking to the Richmond Gear recommended setting of .008 (that's 8 thousandths). Jeff will be doing one set of additional road tests in the morning so we can be certain, then we'll email everyone who's received delivery to confirm the setting.

We know some of you have installations scheduled tomorrow and later this week, so we'll also post confirmation of the settings here.

See this thread for final recommended settings: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=184599

My knowledge is limited, but too little will lead to excessive heat and wear. Too much, excessive noise and wear. Honda appears to have decided on very tight settings, probably to minimize noise. There's always a trade off.

With the Richmond Gears Jeff is reporting no excessive noise at the .008 setting, but we'll know for sure in the morning, by which time he'll have at least a few hundred miles on them.

We also emailed the settings as well as a pdf copy of the Richmond install documentation to everyone who's been shipped a set.
