Default #4 Cyl. Problem Gone?

I have noticed a wonderful absence of symptomatic complaints that result in the dreadful news that your motor has eaten it's #4 cylinder. Was this an issue for "00" and early "01's" only? Has Honda made a design change(improved oiling?) a some point along the "01" production run that has resulted in fewer problems? How long has it been since someone has had a motor replacement for this problem?

I'm curious to. Has there been a problem with the #4 cylinder? Is this common?

Here are a couple of links chronicling the #4 cylinder failure problem: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...ght=engine+pics

Chipster - I hope that you are correct and this issue is behind us now.

Sounds to me like a bad batch of parts, maybe a flawed casting. It was never very common and only happened to a handful of people all at roughly the same time.

You're right, I sort of forgot about that.
There have been no new reports on #4 going bad in a rather long time!
Must be they found the fix and took care of it.
Oh, and they forgot to tell us what the problem was, I'm so surprised.
