The 400 degree titanium knob

Put a hat over the shift knob. I do that and it keeps the temperature on the shift knob lower than having it exposed in the sun. It still gets hot but its hot enough to be able to hold with bear hands.

Hey Ikram, anyone with bear hands could make a lot of money in the circus
The bit of leather covering on the 2002 models does help a bit. I have been told that, in the Outback, some Australians use a quaint leather drawstring pouch as a shift knob cover. The pouch is quite seamless, just the right size and shape, and made of kangaroo leather. The kangaroo leather in question must come from a male kangaroo - one per male kangaroo is all that is possible. Perhaps an Aussie member can verify the truth of this; I don't want to be perpetuating an urban myth.
