Perhaps if I intended to do more cold-weather driving, even in the dry, I would expect these tires would be more predictable despite changing temperatures.

BTW, We just put Yoko AVID touring tires on our CR-V and they are a great tire at a great value!
the S02 and the S03 (to a little lesser extent) are an amazing compromise between sticky and driveability. The problem with them is they just don't last that long and because of there amazing stick, it is very noticeable when they lose some of that stick, ie cold and rain. They don't last long, but I am not going to change to something less sticky. If I really wanted to do it right i would buy some all season tires and get an extra set of rims with victoracers, but I think the S02 is a good compromise.
