Today I grinded into 2nd for the 5th time....I've had the car exactly 1 month and i'm not new at driving a stick (had my Si for a year and a half)......Does the TSB also include the 2001???? Does anyone else with a 2001 have this problem, or was it just confined to the 2000s and I just keep messing up????

 

SiK - my car was born 03/13/2001.

I have only had one grind 1-2 with clutch fully depressed. Have had the car over two months and has not happened again.

I was pretty sure that this grind issue had been fixed for MY2001. Might as well take it in to the dealer for them to check out but I have heard that they wont do the TSB on cars whose VINs belong to MY2001.

A few 2001's have had the TSB fix done.

 

I have a 2001, # 1818; it has done the grind from 1-2 at high rpms about 7-8 times. It has 7,000 miles on it. I'm hesitant to get the fix, because some of the "fixed" cars are still grinding!

 

I have not had a problem with mine & I have had it 6 months.

 

I have never experienced the 1-2 grind in my MY2000. Before or after I had the TSB done.

 

I have done the 1-2 grind twice, but I attribute both times to driver error. I didn't think the problem existed in MY 2001

 

I've had my MY2001 about three months now (2,800 miles) and have only had the 1-2 grind once. I am pretty sure that I didn't have the clutch fully engaged and screwed the pooch myself so I haven't really given any other thought.

 

Exactly.. with the summer heat mine seems little better than it was.. a grind or two the first 1-2 after extended high speed running. I am hoping Honda comes up with a better fix before I take it back.
