Default 6-cylinder S2K?

While I'm not an S2K owner, I absolutely love the car! Having said that, I have heard a rumor (from a dealer source) that stated Honda was thinking of building an inline-6-powered S2000. The same rumor mentioned keeping the 120 hp/liter formula and ending up with something like 350-360 horses. Has anyone here in the forums heard anything that would back this up, or is this just some guy wishfully thinking like the rest of us? Any clarification would be much appreciated!

Chris

I got a flyer from an Acura dealer that had a blurb about that hybrid car. Something like 300hp gasoline + 100hp electric motor. This was a while ago, the numbers could be optimistic. I believe the user colin is a manager for Acura... maybe he knows?

As for the I-6 S2K, sounds like its encroaching too much into NSX territory. I'd be surprised to see it unless the NSX got a major upgrade, too. My $.02

Acura had a concept car/ SUV on the 2002 car show circuit that had a 300 HP motor that ran th efront wheels and electric motors that added 100 HP that ran the rear wheels when needed. Cool concept, but that's all it is to this point, a concept. I said at the time that I would buy one when they built it.

Dualnote (I *hate* Acura's naming scheme). 300 HP V6 driving the rear, electric in-wheel motors driving each front, approximately 400 hp total.

The 350 HP I6 probably came from the S2000R hoax a while back. The engine, if it got a boost, would probably remain a 4 banger. The S2000 isn't going to be encroaching NSX territory any time soon...
