6-speed ZF auto --- Auto S2000?
Hey guys, this is my first post, hope I can bring some good info to these awesome boards.
Well, while I was looking around the net, I found this interesting article on Auto ASCII. It stated that there maybe be a 6spd automatic in the works for the S2000. The auto coming from German engineering, a la BMW. Here is the entire article.
"At this week's Tokyo Show, Honda announced that their S2000 sportscar was being fitted with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. While we could not confirm the type of transmission, one insider informs that the most likely inclusion will be ZF 6-speed made by Germany's well-known transmission maker. These gearboxes are currently fitted to models in the Mercedes and BMW lineups.
Boasting superbly engineered shift systems, these high prices gearboxes have not found their way into Japanese cars until now. And the S2000 looks like being the first domestic model to receive this technology."

Well, this article was dated Oct, 26 2000. So, I don't know if anyone of you have heard of this or if this is just some babble from this site, but it's very interesting. Personally, I would never choose auto, but this step would make the s2000 more attractive to a larger market.
On a personal note, I'm looking to get a new s2000 when I graduate from college this time April. Just need to get that job thing out of the way..haha.
Later.
