Thumbs up 70mm TP, 60mm exhaust....any problems?

I finally got my Invidia catback from UPS today (used from the FS section).

Both the TP and catback were from different sellers, but both were advertised as 70mm.

The TP IS 70mm.

The exhaust system has the 60mm (or 63mm?) tubing.

Obviously they should still bolt up together, but is there any power difference or overall difference anyways between the smaller and larger exhaust tubing?

I wish you have it other way around 60 mm TP w/ 70 mm exhaust. You exhaust will be perform as 60 mm exhaust. TP just a free flow. Have you try to contact exhaust seller? He should be responsible for that??

Post the links to the items you purchased and will take a look at them.

Theirs a slight chance they might not bolt up.

Do they bolt up 100%? Your really not going to have an issue with the piping being different sizes. Most 70mm exhaust eventually get narrower towards the end. Your just not going to get the ful effect of a 70mm exhaust now

It might..and I say MIGHT becuase Im not 100% sure, but it might be worse for your performance since first the exhaust gasses are going to be flowing fast to the TP, it expands as it goes to 70mm..but now it has to re-constrict down to a 60mm to flow out.

I think it would create a bottle neck

It will probably create a bottle neck. Don't know the performance implications of that though. It would have been fine if it was the other way around though... 60mm test pipe and 70mm exhaust. I had that at one point and still saw performance gains.

Well it does all bolt up since the flanges are the same.

I'm kind of kicking myself because I spent $500 shipped for this exhaust USED, expecting it to be a 70mm as advertised, and the seller said it was like new with regular use wear.

I didn't know regular use meant that the driver's side titanium tip was removed and reinstalled at some point with ugly rivets completely visible, and now that tip sticks out about an inch further than the passenger side, that required bolts weren't included, or that the stock rubber hangers pull the exhaust up so close that its touching the rear bumper.

I could have spent like $50 more through most of the vendors and had it brand new and 70mm as advertised.

Ehh...At least I can definately notice a power difference over the cat and stock exhaust, and I can still hear my SOS supercharger, so it'll do.

Did you report the seller to administration?

How did you purchase the exhaust? If you used paypal you can file a claim.
