Default 7500 Maint. Service Cost

What did it cost you? I have to do mine soon. What are some of the best prices in Dallas?

Did it myself. Why pay them big bucks to change the oil?

1. change the oil
2. find the procedure for turning off the maint light
3. fill up the washer fluid

All done. And all you spent was about $25.

7500 mile maintenance consists of: changing the oil and checking the tire pressures. prices for this have been anywhere from $85 up to $195!

and dont forget to check the faq section for resetting the maintenance required light.

I have been quoted a price of $60 for...

Tightening some of the "belts"
Cleaning the Injectors with cleaner they run through them
Oil Change
Battery check

The battery would be checked and the posts "cleaned"- they don't need cleaning. I know I can buy some Fuel Injector cleaner for $8 and do that myself. Not sure about the belts. Should I just have them change the oil? The Maint Schedule says to do the following things...

Oil change
Inspect front/rear brakes for wear or damage, tightness of mounts and caliper leaks
Check tire pressure
Inspect tie rod ends, steering gearbox and rack boots
Inspect suspension components
Inspect driveshaft

None of these things were mentioned in the phone conversation. Is this really a BS service thing. Doesn't seem that they follow it very closely and just change the oil.

the service manual says to replace engine oil and check tire inflation and condition... for normal conditions.
for severe conditions they also add to check brakes, tie-rods, suspension components, driveshaft boots.

be careful- some dealers might just change the oil and charge for doing all of the above!! if you arent doing it yourself, find a dealer or shop that you can trust...
