You can't really get much more power out of this engine by the NA route. Oh, you can do some "tweeks" to get a few more hp and maybe a few more mpg, but you've got to watch what you pay for these NA "tweeks" as you can spend a lost of "bucks" for little "bang."

But, I've kept my car NA with just a few little cheap tweeks, because it costs too much (value of the car considered) to go FI.

For what it is worth? My advice is to keep it NA, don't go FI, and save your money for your next car -- while enjoying what your S 2000 has to offer in the mean time.

Thanks,
Richard

What do you mean the $ is gone w/ nothing to show? You still have the $7K! IMO, it's not real fiscally sound to "invest" $7K in a car that's prob. worth $14-15K, and will likely be worth no more (if not less) post-S/C.

But....if you want a S/C, hold out for what you want. It's silly going an alternate route just b/c you can't get immediate gratification. Over the long term, that wait will mean nothing vs. all the time you have to drive it!
s2ks here in the NW seattle are 18k lowest price back in april per autotrader on a my00. High market up here.

OK. Let's assume a resale value of $20K for the S 2000. Do you think an additional $7K "investment" in it could ever be recovered? But perhaps that is not a concern for you, and maybe you just like your car and want to get the most out of it, regardless of resale concerns. If so, some sort of FI is the ONLY way to go. Back in '02 or '03, Mungen took an S 2000 to the extreme NA -- about $25K worth -- and Car and Driver car mag tested it against a stock S 2000. The modded car didn't beat the stock more than .1 second in any times, and was actually .1 second SLOWER in 0 to 60.

All this is why all the little mods on my car, figured together, don't exceed $500. Anything further is best saved for my NEXT car -- whatever that may be.

Thanks,
Richard

Are you absolutely sure about those numbers? I find that extremely hard to believe. What kinds of tests were they?

So the dealer will warranty a comptech, but not a vortech? They are pretty much the same thing. I bet the dealer just gets a lot better margin on comptech so thats what they will sell.

If warranty is the only thing that matters then wait, otherwise get a vortech and have more fun!

turbo on 7 psi with a good tune should give the motor no problems at all, this is what im doing after the summer, be in the 330 hp range with lovefab, thats all i need, who knows down the line u could build ur engine and make a lot more power, with a superchager you are way more limited
