Default 80 Shot on S2K Times....

Ok first off I don't have an S2K but my friend has one, anyways he started to tell me how he wants to put Nitrous on his car as a Cheap go fast part...I like to read the Street Encounters Section on here as well as a few more sites as this is one of the few sites with credible stories so that is how I came across here and have some knowledge about these cars...anyways to the point..

He wants to install an 80 Shot Wet Kit, though when he told me the gains I argued as it seems his prediction of a 1/4 time seems very low...Mid to High 12's with just a 80 Shot Wet , also when reading some stories around the site i've seen that a Dry Kit is actually safer and more beneficial for an S2K and that a Wet Kit does not show huge gains and is dangerous(Strange since Wet Kits should deliver more power, but i dont have an S2K so..)

Anyways on this site the times I have seen with a 75 Shot are in the mid to low 13's....it seems really strange to me that just an 80 Shot would give him a mid to high 12 sec. run and that a Wet Kit is better, so rather than him buying a Wet Kit running a mid 13 and Blowing up the motor on top of that I just want to make sure and get the facts straight...

BTW-Nice cars

Mid to high 12's? No way in hell. I'd say mid 13's at best.

let him run an 80 shot and watch him screw up his engine. Then, using one of your blown beasts, demonstrate to him that if you want a drag car, for $35k you can get something a lot better than an s2k.

oh big bad nitrous is going to blow up my car....give me a break done correctly nitrous is fine...lean conditions blow and mess up your engine not nitrous. The times he gets all depends on the times he is able to get without the Nitrous. A 75 wet shot will improve 1/4 mile times by about .6 to .8 seconds .So if he can manage a 13.8 with out it he can get a 13 with it. or if he's good and gets a 13.7 stock it is very concievable that he could get a high twelve. 100 horse power of any type mod
nitrous..turbo...blower on a three thousand pound car give or take 100 pounds will result in about a 1 second better e.t. in the quarter give or take a tenth of a second.
So please lets stop the B.S. some people like the twisties and the street lights. Dry or wet 80 shot of either is the same HP! just that the wet adds fuel to decrease the chance of running lean. Please...Just stop ........Please!

i didn't imply that the nitrous would blow his motor/trans...i said the kid would blow it...obviously no one is gonna run 12's in a stock s2k with just a 80 shot (maybe one day an act of god will help him, maybe a gust of wind from behind or somethin to help him on his way down the track?)...so i figure he would just keep dumping the clutch at __RPM's (you fill it in, pick a # above 6k) and eventually ruin his car tryna touch 12's...

...i never knew a s2k could do a 13.7 stock? if it could, do you think the engine would last long with that abuse?...how about with the 80 shot?

p.s...i don't even know if you were replying to my post, but...

Well, wet shot means it adds fuel as well. However, the problem is that a wet nitrous system is generally reserved for built cars. Yes, it will harm his car more than an SC or turbo would for the fact that the Nitrous makes the explosion hotter and it makes the engine hotter. His car will take it for the most part (our S2k's have forged internals like pistons, rods, crank, etc) However, I don't know if wet shot is the way to go. He may run into more problems and should keep it simple. 80 shot dry.

He will also have traction problems if he tries to use it on launch and/or 1st gear, so 2nd gear on up would be best.

Yes our cars can hit 13.7 stock. I usually hit 13's, and last time at the track I was getting 14.0 on crappy 2.24 60' times and dropping the clutch at 4500rpm. Yes, our cars can take the abuse, as you can ask anyone here, I'm quite the race whore and haven't had anything break. (23,000+ miles) There are a lot of myths about the S2k that people don't realize.

However, I would be surprised as hell if he broke 12's with an 80 shot.
