9:55am S2K Pulled over by State Trooper...Story within.
I am now one of those drivers who drives 50 in a 55 (but in the right lane of course)... after my incident Tuesday (3 tickets. one stop: 65 in a 30, imprudent speed, and passing on the right... >$400 in fines and 14 points) I am a very slow and cautious driver... and I now prefer to take out my modded Focus than my S2000.
My cop was obnoxious (I was only polite and respectful) and took 22 minutes to look in his code book for every violation he could write me a ticket for...
I even said 'Thank You'...

Ouch!
That sucks dude. My g/f actually says I drive like a grandpa now. Haha. And for once it doesn't seem to be wearing off. I'm only 22 and I've had a lifetime worth of tickets, suspensions, accidents, etc. I think I've had enough. I might let it open on a smooth back road with no traffic and no COPS, but that's about it. On my daily commute, I don't go more than 5 over, and I stay w/ the flow of traffic. It's not worth it.

Two quick ones - The night I picked up my S2000 I was driving down a very familiar road to show my dad the new car. I was going 62 kmh (canada) and a bright flash goes off behind me (we have photo radar here = cash grab) I think 'what the heck I'm only 2 kmh over?' I circle back and pull into the side road and get out and ask the guy in the van what's up. He said that the limit is 50 kmh on this road. I say since when I have driven this road thousands of times. "Oh they changed it 2 hours ago." I can't wait to get the ticket in the mail.
Last winter (I live in Edmonton Canada) driving my truck to work, after 8" of snow fell that night, I was pulled over and given a ticket - not for speeding - but for having snow covering part of my rear plate. Who says there isn't a quota.

Doesn't everyone know that you are supposed to take pictures when you get pulled over?!?

Then we have Scot here, who has gone over 150mph how many times? Of course with those kind of balls, if you see a cop, you outrun him. I must have some crappy luck, cuz as soon as I start speeding, there always seems to be a cop around the corner. I dunno, I'm just tired of paying 4k a year for insurance. Hell, I just got done serving a 45 day suspension, that was for a speeding ticket last September in my lude, 87 in a 55. Oops, over 6 points for the third time now, bye bye license. It would help if my little suburb of a couple thousand people didn't have 15 cops patrolling at all times, and I wonder where all that tax money goes. Sure doesn't go to maintaining our wonderful roads, huh Scot?
the best ticket is
i forget the name of it...there are three levels.
wreckless driving
careless driving
and one other "driving" type ticket
the last one carries a hefty fine but no points...it's normally what i use when i go to court but can't get out of the ticket i plead for that last one so i don't get any insurance points. hell this isn't my first and it's not my last i'm not going to sweat it unless i happen to be carrying illegal contraband in the car at that time lol...but that rarely ever happens =)
