A032R Tires in the Rain?
Has anyone used the Yok A032R in the rain? I know it is a race tire, but I was going to use it on the street for extra grip. Please let me know what you think of these tires in general too.
Thanks

I can only relay that the Lotus R340, which has 038's standard, I believe - the handling in the rain is less than good, from written accounts.
Slightly off topic, but does anyone know when we will get the updated A048's? They've been out in Japan for quite a while now.

I think A032R is ok for the rain. Obviously, it is not as good as regular street tire. But, I think they are comparable with our OEM S02 rear. I had driven A032R in down pour. It is fine, just a little slower. The backend never come around.
Hope this helps.

I am just looking for something that rocks in the dry, and that can get me home alive in the rain. Not looking to perform, or go high speed in the wet.

With almost any high performance or R compound tire, the big question is not whether they are good in the rain or not but rather if they are good in deep water (> 1/8-1/4").
Most R compound tires with the minimalest of tread will do quite well if the road is just lightly wet but no standing water. However, if there is any kind of puddle, the tires with less tread depth (irrespective of compound) will not do as well.
I've used the A032R in quite heavy rain and must say that it's comparable to most ultra high performance tires.
Keep in mind that most of the time, when you go with wider tires, you will not do as well in standing water either..
YMMV
