About to purchase S2000
I'd say buy it. But taking it to a mechanic couldn't hurt.
I would just hope the guy changed the oil every 3 months, because obviously he hit the time limit rather than the mile limit on oil changes.

Sounds like the guy is on the up and up. Don't listen to these people who tell you that not having many miles is just as bad as having too many. 80-100 miles per month can be perfectly normal for someone who has many $$ and many other cars. He likely bought this car sort of as a collectable. If the car had 300 miles on it, then I might worry. You should be golden with that car. Great find.
Pull a carfax....you will be able to see the mileage when they reregister/smog etc....make sure it correlates
We just got a 93 accord with 34k miles on it the other day....true miles. Crazy stuff

Low milage can be a bad thing. Like others have said.
Let say he got it in Oct 99 put those miles on it in 6 months. then parked it for 7 years.
7 years sitting would be very bad for a car. Gaskets and seals dry out. Water gets into fluids.
Not saying thats what happend but you never know. Even sitting for 12 months could be bad if its never started or moved.
Anyways i would say its a fair deal.
I just sold a 2000 with 20k miles mint cond with comptech supercharger after cooler, HD pressure plate and clutch for $17,600. Thats about 10k worth of extra stuff.
S2000's have really droped in price in the last 12 months
