a lot? is there a pun to this. i dont think there is a scientific answer to this. but there is a lot more wear and tear. but who knows how much? i mean the s can last over 200K miles. not sure if this is a joke or if i am suppose to wait for a pun. but, yeah there is a lot of wear and tear, it does shorten the life of any car.
suspension would go out, not to mention clutch, tires, and brakes. diff maybe. more stress on the engine i guess. tranny could experience os wear.
but, this is an S, it is meant for the track. dont worry about shortening the life of a car. if you really want to have fun with the s, dont worry about about all the wear and tear. just think it like this. if you smoke, it wont kill you tomorrow or next week or next 10 years, but yes it will have some effect down the line. well, ok maybe not the best analogy but you get the point.

you know, vtec is "bad" for the engine. but i set it down to 4200 just so i could be in it a little bit longer. "that's what she said." but so what i enjoy every time. kinda like heroin, cant wait to get another fix of vtec.
ahh, man i am giving out the worse analogies! but at least i get the point across.

It depends on the abuse. If you launch the car often and cause shock wear to the drivetrain, it would experience more wear than usual.
I would think on a typical autocross, for example, the most wear would be on the clutch, brakes and tires. Your differential should be fine so long as you don't launch or shift the car poorly. Since these are wear items, they should not affect the overall quality of the vehicle.
On a road course, the car would experience the same loads as on an autocross but at higher speeds, which would accelerate the wear associated. Also, the bushings may have accelerated wear, along with the suspension components.
I think the most obvious abuse on these cars are when people drop the clutch and perform poor launches. This causes wear to the differential, clutch, and transmission. My solution would be that I personally don't launch the S, but I still have plenty of fun driving it...

There is a guy in Houston that had 180k miles on his 02, 20k of which were track miles, and he just finally replaced his motor because he found a good deal on one. His was running fine.
There are way too many factors that goes into this. If you're worried about he car then don't take it out to the track. Also,I'm pretty sure driving on shtty atlanta roads has taken a much grater toll on my suspension than a few track days.

I would have to say that the greatest component on my S that I feel gets the greatest accelerated wear from tracking would be the engine and clutch (negleting accelerated tire wear and brake pads). The 9k rev limit has to have a greater effect on the engine if the engine is up there for 20 minutes. This being said, I don't think it's anything that will keep me from the track. If the engine can last 200k of street driving then I'm sure it can take a few track days.

Who would be crazy enough to do that?
