Default AC always on in defrost - defeat sequence

recently someone posted a sequence of button pressing that will release the AC from always turning on when we put the car into front windshield defrost/defog mode. Returning the AC compressor to driver control rathe rthan auto/always on.

I've searched and looked for the sequence/thread & can't seem to find it.

Can someone please repost?

Thanks.

It doesn't work the same in the 02-05's.

I had an 01, and you could just push the button off. But they changed that, and my 03' doesn't allow you to do it unless you follow the link above.
