Accident specs?
Well, I am a proud owner of an S...but, last week I was in a minor accident...the problem that I'm having now is the fact that I watched the sedan in front of me literally climb on top of my hood! I have looked up the crash specs online and our S got 4 or 5 stars for everything. But, I'm scared to continue driving it...I mean, after it gets fixed. Anyone here been in a wreck and can tell me how their S stood up to another car (going faster than 40mph?)? I was only going about 25mph. Any comments would be helpful. I'm so excited to have found this site!!!
Thanks!
Amy
P.S. Baylor (in my forum name) is my puppy and he, too, loves "our" car!

From what I hear, the S2k's crashworthiness is as good as can be expected from a roadster and then some. Unless the car you hit has a really high ground clearance, I'd expect the S2000 to protect its occupants as well as (and in many cases better than) any other car/behemoth out there in a similar situation.
About your S, try to find a very good body shop to perform the repairs - you'll be glad you did later on.

From what I understand (from reading here of over 1yr) the S protects the occupants very well. The rest of the cars takes impact in it "crush zones". Several owners that have posted after their accident said "The cops were amazed at how the passengers had little to no injury from the accident. From the rate of speed at impact they thought that they were lucky to still be walking.
So the car looked like hell but everyone walked away. Everyone on the major injury accidents had one thing in common, no seat belts. If you don't wear them, you should. They will save your live.

i hit a deer, just grazed it, but in the process i spun off the road over a ditch, through a mailbox, a wooden fence and a small tree(about 7 inches in diamater) from over 40 mph. i have to say that the car held up pretty well. everything hit around the front driver side fender, and driver door. the top was down also. the tree managed to break in half and fall in to the car a little bit, but other than that i barely even felt an impact in the cabin. it wasnt even enough to knock my phone out of my lap. i was suprised to see the damage, all of which was cosmetic, when i got out of the car. to me it felt like it would jsut be a few scratches. anyway ,.. getting to the point, it made me feel a lot better about how the car holds up.

Thank you so much!! I feel much better about my car now...it's at the Honda Dealer...is that a good thing you think, or should I look else-where before repairs start.

And once you have determined a place, have the insurance appraiser come to the shop (not to you) to have the estimate done with the supervision of the repair man.
