Acetone as gas additive

My friend vouched his Mercedez Compressor to be used for our experiment and I'll soon post the results over the weekend..
In the mean time, what do you guys think? Anyone with experience?

At a concentration of 0.2%, you will not see improved fuel economy of "up to 35%". This kind of concentration will do very little. It won't hurt anything nor will it contribute to anything. Like other marketers of "fuel saving" products, this all sounds like quackery.
Has anyone tried the magnets on the fuel line trick yet?

Do you have personal experience Xviper?
I've played with more acetone in my 20 years than these guys have seen in the time they've come up with this idea.
One doesn't have to have "experience" with this to see that 0.2% acetone and 35% improvement in fuel economy just don't add up.
I've dumped methanol, ethanol, benzene, xylene into my gas tank in far higher concentrations that 0.2%. Result? ......................... besides making for a good gasline anitfreeze? ....................... nothing. To me, acetone is just too dangerous to be messing around a car. It's harmless at 0.2% but to walk around your car with 100% is not wise. It'll eat through paint and plastics. I wouldn't routinely walk around my car with a jug of brake fluid either.
In any case, please report back here when all is said and done. Maybe there's a magic potion in the making.
ps. This acetone in the fuel is not a new idea. It's been "tested" before and posted about in this forum in years past. If it is such a good idea, why haven't we seen a product on the shelves by now?
The main argument is exactly that- "Why don't we see the product in the shelves if it is effective".
While I'm aware of this "old" news (it has been beaten to death in the other forum I'm active in) everyone is afraid to try it because of the bad effect it may have. So I guess I'll take the bullet and try it on my friends car
I'll post the results after/during the weekend.

this has been discussed AT LENGTH on this forum. acetone has ZERO POSITIVE EFFECT to be used on our cars. some chemists have expressed concern of it actually doing damage, in fact.

Some of them in the two threads have seen positive results but never reported back. I wonder what happened to them..
Anyway, my friend and I are planrning to experiment the whole day travelling at least a stretch of 150 miles one-way and I'll note the climate, condition, and everything that can factor the cars fuel efficiency.
Traffic is my main concern, but if all goes well...I'll use some Acetone on my S2000.
Here are some MPG data I've created when I used to drive the TSX:

During the break-in, as you can see..the car didn't do too well- but overall..it was quite consistent.

Try to do consistent highway mileage along the same stretch of road, same time of day, same kind of weather (if possible). Do the standard gas first with enough runs to make it statistically sound, then do the same runs with acetone.
